Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
For a guided W Trek trip, I would recommend bringing both a standard pack (with all your trekking belongings) as well as a smaller pack for the days when you can leave your main pack at a Refugio and carry a smaller pack with more limited supplies. I did not know this ahead of time and would have planned differently. The packing list was otherwise spot on. I feel like we just skimmed the surface of Torres Del Paine. There is so much to see, and there are so many different ways to experience the park. The W Trek is an amazing introduction to the park!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I am immensely grateful for the chance to experience Patagonia. The Chilean people were extremely friendly and welcoming, and I look forward to learning Spanish and returning to explore more of this fascinating and diverse country.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Guides: Carolina and Felipe—professional, skilled in leading a group of trekkers, good educators, super fun!! Our group was in highly capable hands. Their love of this park and of the outdoors is evident. Driver Gaston—very safe driver, professional. Thank you, Gaston!!
