About Us

We help people organise adventure travel holidays in Patagonia, just Patagonia. Our exclusive focus on this incredible corner of world means that we've got the knowledge and the relationships to find just the right trip for everyone that we speak to. Patagonia is a vast region with all sorts of possibilities and we take real pleasure in helping people find the best adventure for their experience, dates, budget and appetite for adventure.

Who's behind Swoop?

Luke Errington fell in love with Patagonia when he first visited the region in 1999. He's an avid trekker, marathon runner and adventure racer who has travelled extensively in South America and around the world.

Luke visits the region twice a year and his most recent trip took him down Aisen's Carretera Austral and into the Los Glaciares National Park; then across Tierra del Fuego to Isla Navarino. Luke's most memorable spots for wild Patagonian experiences are the Paso John Garner in Torres del Paine National Park and Glaciar Marconi on the edge of the Ice Cap. Luke is currently preparing himself for an ascent of Cerro Aconcagua in January.

Charlotte Brown is a Spanish speaker whose passion for all things latino/hispanic led to her interest in Patagonia. Since working at Swoop, Charlotte has had some real adventures such as horse riding in Cochamo Valley, mountain biking in the Lake District, and her personal favourite, kayaking on the Serrano River and completing the W Circuit in Torres del Paine.

She's an avid traveller and has recently returned from a visit to Peninsula Valdes, Tierra del Fuego and the Antarctic Peninsula.

We're based in the United Kingdom, in Bristol, and we're lucky enough to visit Patagonia 2-3 times each year. If you're in the West Country and would like to pop in and check out some maps and photos of the region then please drop us a line.

Our trips and our partners

We've picked over 40 Chilean and Argentinian guides and operators that over 200 different itineraries for trekking, kayaking, horseriding, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, fishing and mountaineering. Our trips range from day hikes and novice kayaking and horseriding to 3 week expeditions on the Ice Cap for experienced mountaineers.

We've spoken to over a hundred adventure travellers who have visited Patagonia, met with tourist boards and National Park authorities in Chile and Argentina and walked the streets of all the key Patagonian towns like Puerto Natales, el Chalten and Bariloche to identify all the different operators in the region. We've spoken to customers who have been on their trips, visited their offices, met their guides and checked their itineraries so that we can be sure that you will find the right adventure and the right guide for you.

We also work with a handful of global companies who are bonded offer unique adventure tours through the region.

We work with our partners on a commission only basis. This means that the trip prices you see on our website are the same as those available on operators' websites and in their offices.  You do not pay more for using Swoop's service, you find the right operator and the right trip.
